A horoscope is a diagram of the relative positions of the Sun, the Moon, the planets and signs of the zodiac at a specific moment in time. It is used by astrologers to foretell events and situations of an individual’s life. The wonder of horoscopes is that they differ from individual to individual, just like the differences in people’s fingerprints. It is this distinction that enables an astrologer to provide information about the present and the future events accurately and effectively.
To prepare a horoscope, or a space-time map (Kéndra), there are three essentials.
- Date of Birth
- Time of Birth
- Place of Birth
Make sure the time is accurate – the more accurate the time, the more accurate the predictions about the newborn are going to be. Once these 3 essential are established, providing them to a good astrologer will enable one to identify what happens and what doesn’t in the future.
Astronomical data are needed in order to prepare the horoscope. This astronomical data will provide information on the precise positions of the planets and the stars (the sun and the moon) on their respective orbit of movement during the date and time of birth of an individual. The place of birth will help us find out the geographical longitudes and latitudes, which would ensure greater accuracy.
An astrologer will then be able to recognize the nature and character of an individual and spot the good and bad events that he/she will face in the future, by reading and analyzing an individual’s horoscope. The good thing about this is that if something bad is to happen, steps can be taken to minimize the ill-effects of it. However, one should not stick too much to the horoscope since the information portrayed by the horoscope might be incorrect if the time given to the astrologer is wrong.
Different countries have different ways of preparing horoscopes, and horoscopes are used mainly by Asians, especially when it comes to finding the right life partner. The basic form of a horoscope is a circle or square, which is divided into 12 intersections, called houses. Each of these houses is assigned several departments of human life such as education, love/marriage, wealth, etc. The date, time and place would enable the astrologer to determine the location of the planets and stars. The planet that falls within a particular house/ sect is said to influence matters relating to that house.
A horoscope is a good tool and is by far the most used tool to predict the future of individuals. Studying the movement of the heavenly objects and the accurate judgment of horoscopes is the main objective of studying astrology. One thing has to be kept in mind – Do not get obsessed to the readings of your horoscope because it would result in you giving up the power to control your own destiny. |
